29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(b) or 29 CFR 1926.652(c). The employer had not complied with the provisions of 29 CFR 1926.652(b) in that the excavation was sloped and benched at an angle steeper than on and one-half horizontal to one vertical (34 degrees measured from the horizontal):  a) 100 Gilpin Drive, West Chester, PA 19382: Employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while working along vertical excavation walls that were 7ft deep. The excavation walls were not adequately sloped, benched, shored or shielded to protect the workers. Conditions observed on or about July 29, 2015.
