29 CFR 1926.503(c)(3): When inadequacies in an affected employee's knowledge or use of fall protection systems or equipment indicate that the employee has not retained the requisite understanding or skill, the employer shall retrain the affected employee: (a) On or about August 7, 2015, the employer did not ensure employees working on roofs were properly trained to move rope grabs to the highest possible location on the lifeline to which they were attached, to ensure that they would not fall more than six feet. (b) On or about August 7, 2015, the employer did not ensure that an employee using a Miller Falcon Series Self-Retracting Lifeline was properly trained to ensure the wire rope would not be caught in the roofing materials stocked on the roof to allow the lifeline to work properly. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
