Employees could potentially be exposed to anhydrous ammonia in the event of an emergency situation such as a release of ammonia from the ice rink cooling system. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) At the ice arena, on or about 8/28/2015: Employees were not provided with information and training on anhydrous ammonia contained in the ice rink cooling system. In the event of an emergency situation such as a release from the cooling system, employees could potentially be exposed to anhydrous ammonia. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
