29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or before August 25, 2015, the employer failed to ensure that effective guarding was in place on the Jet Lathe located in the main warehouse area, Bay 2. Barrier guards were not present to prevent the hazard of flying chips and sparks.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point of operation guards were not designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of their body in the danger zone during the operating cycle: On or before August 25, 2015, the employer failed to guard the unused portion of the blade on the Baileigh Horizontal Band Saw located in the main warehouse area, Bay 2. Barrier guards were not present at the point of operation where the band saw comes into contact with the materials that are being cut.
