29 CFR 1910.26(c)(2)(vii): Ladders having defects are to be marked and taken out of service until repaired by either maintenance department or the manufacturer. (a) Store #3198: A Cotterman rolling ladder 6 1/2 foot from working surface to ground was used by employees to retrieve and place stock on shelves. The ladder had a defective locking mechanism and was missing a caster wheel causing the ladder to be unstable, as observed on or about August 27, 2015 and times prior. (b) Store #3198: A Cotterman rolling ladder 5 foot from working surface to ground was being used by employees to retrieve stock and place stock on shelves. The ladder was missing one caster wheel and had 4 stairs bent and/or detached, as observed on or about August 27, 2015 and times prior. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
