29 CFR 1926.251(b)(1): Welded alloy steel chain sling(s) did not have permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity, and sling manufacturer: On August 28, 2015 the employer did not permanently identify welded alloy steel chain slings stating size, grade, rated capacity or sling manufacturer that were used to suspend structural steel columns during steel erection operations. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards in the event of a sling failure. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
