29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift:    a) Burger King Parking Lot Sign - An employee taking measurements in an aerial lift was exposed to an approximate ten (10) foot fall without the use of fall protection, on or about September 9th, 2015.     Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.    Note:  As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system.  The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated.    The Riptide Property Maintenance LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1926.453(b)(2)(v), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315886648, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 01/06/2012, with respect to a workplace located at 49 North Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
