29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where (a) portable ladder(s) was/were used for access to an upper level landing surface and the ladder's length did not allow the ladder side rails to extend at least 3 feet (0.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed, the ladder was not secured at its top to a rigid support that will not deflect, and/or a grasping device was not provided to assist employees in mounting and dismounting the ladder.    On 9/10/15, at the Reserves at Bogan Lake site, subcontracted employees were using a ladder to access roof levels that did not extend 3 feet above the roof level and it was not secured into place.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b).  On 9/10/15, at The Reserves at Bogan Lake job site, subcontracted employees were exposed to fall hazards of 11' as they worked from roof levels installing brick to the outside of a residential home job site.   Century Communities, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315018895, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 4/20/2011, with respect to a workplace located at 6374 & 6384 S. Kewaunne, Aurora, CO 80016.
