29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system:      The employer does not ensure that each employee on a low-slope roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels is protected by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.  This violation was observed on or about September 16, 2015, on the south side of the emergency clinic where an employee was exposed to a fall hazard greater than 6 feet when repairing a roof leak without a fall protection system.      The Juan Guerrero Sheet Metal, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(10) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1007715, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on July 8, 2015 with respect to a workplace located at 1730 Katyland Drive, Katy, TX  77493.        Pursuant to 29 C.F. R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees on a low-slope roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels is protected by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.
