29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: At the time of inspection, the employer failed to provide adequate machine guarding to the following: The Boarder quilter and the Panel quilter were equipped with partial light curtains. There was a gap between the light curtains that was greater than 1 1/4 inches in width. The distance from light curtain to the needles and moving parts was about 15 inches.
