29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who was on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: a) Employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 22.5 feet while engaged in steel erection and detailing work on structural steel. Steel Hangn Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 891364, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed final order on May 8, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 3633 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago, IL 60613. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
