29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Ingles Markets, Inc., Clarkesville, GA - Employees were using cleaning chemicals, such as, but are not limited to Retail Chlorinated Cleaner (containing sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide), and Retail Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner with Peroxide (containing ~ 3% hydrogen peroxide) to conduct cleaning. An emergency eye wash was not provided to flush both eyes simultaneously in case of an emergency, on or about 10/23/2015. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
