29 CFR 1910.22(b)(1): Aisles and passageways were not kept clear and in good repair, with no obstruction across or in aisles that could create a hazard: (a) Facility, Dock 20, 1243 Thompson Avenue, McKees Rocks, PA: On or about October 21, 2015 the passageway in front of Dock 20 was not kept in good repair. A metal expansion joint had risen up out of the concrete approximately 1 inch and employees were passing over the joint with powered industrial trucks. An employee attempted to travel over the joint and unload a pallet of drums from a truck when the forks of the vehicle struck the metal stopping the movement of the vehicle. The employee suffered an injury to their head, requiring stitches, when they were thrown around from the force of the sudden stop.
