29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish an energy control program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, start up or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment would be isolated and rendered inoperable: a) In the production room, the energy control program established by the employer did not ensure that the Standun Bodymaker machines were isolated from their energy sources and rendered inoperative before employees remove jammed cans. During the removal of the jammed cans from the Standun Bodymaker machines, unexpected start-up can occur and cause injury to the employees.
