29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A) is applicable to shipyard employment by 1915.154 that incorporates the General Industry requirement: The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function. (a) Located in the bilge of the USNS Henry Kaiser, moored at berth 315 at the Vigor Shipyard at 5555 N Channel Ave in Portland, Oregon: On or about and at times prior to October 29, 2015 the inspection revealed that the employer permitted respirators to be worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face.

29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(iii): The employer did not identify and evaluate the respiratory hazard(s) in the workplace; including a reasonable estimate of employee exposures to respiratory hazards and identification of the contaminant's chemical state and physical form: (a) Located at Vigor Shipyard at 5555 N Channel Ave in Portland, OR: On or about and at times prior to October 27, 2015 the inspection revealed that the employer had not conducted industrial hygiene sampling to determine employee exposure levels to chemicals used in painting and coating operations.
