29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: Production floor, American Steel and Aluminum, 27 Elm Street, Auburn, Massachusetts; Fire extinguishers were blocked and not mounted properly subjecting employees to lifting and reaching injuries. a. Fire extinguisher by the loading dock was blocked by material and machine parts preventing ready access. Employees would have to reach between the items to access the extinguishers. b. Fire extinguisher by the scale was laying on it's side on the lower shelf of the work table, exposing employees to reaching and lifting injuries.
