29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): Location - 17 Merrimac Street, Merrimac, MA 01860 On or about 11/3/15, The employer did not protect each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels. Instance a: Employees constructing the gable ends on a residential property were not protected from falling, exposing employees to a fall hazard of thirteen (13) feet ten (10) inches. Instance b: Guardrails were missing from the first floor windows, exposing employees to a fall hazard of six (6) feet four (4) inches. Instance c: Guardrail or cover was missing from cellar door opening in foundation wall, exposing employees to a fall hazard of six (6) feet five (5) inches. Instance d: Midrails were missing from guardrails used to guard open basement stairwell, exposing employees to a fall hazard of nine (9) feet eight (8) inches.
