29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:      (a) On or about October 21st, 2015, at a job site located at 1914 Main Street in Kansas City, MO, workers were exposed to serious fall hazards while performing framing work on a building which was under construction at that location.  At least three workers were exposed to falling more than 5 stories to the ground in that they were standing on and working from structural wooden trusses directly at the upper-most edges of the building.  No type of fall protection equipment or system was in use or in place at the time of the inspection.      Abatement certification is required for this Item.  Use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.    NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
