Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for hands were not provided and used wherever it was necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation, or physical contact. (a) Navy Exchange, Credit Union: The employer did not provide a painter with appropriate hand protection such as nitrile rubber work gloves, exposing the employee to possible skin irritation after prolonged or repeated exposure to paint product.
