The adjusted action level is used instead of the 85 dBA level when shift length exceeds 8 hours, and means that any employee or job description with a time weighted average exposure above that action level must be included in a hearing conservation program.    WRITTEN ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
