OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard: a) Shop Area: The employer was utilizing unprotected polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping to transport compressed air in an above ground installation while employees were performing repairs and maintenance on large trucks. Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard while utilizing compressed air.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment: a) Shop Area - A large truck bumper was completely blocking the front of the General Electric electrical panel box creating insufficient working space for authorized personnel who were required to perform service or maintenance on the equipment. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.
