OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck by hazard: a. During operation of the block machine, racks have fallen from the conveyor line resulting in a struck by hazard to employees handling blocks, monitoring the line, or performing housekeeping duties in the area where the rack has fallen. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to install a guard or fence in front of the conveyor line to prevent the rack from falling onto the floor.
