OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): OSH ACT of 1970 SECTION (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and/or fall hazards hazards: On or about November 12,2015he employer failed to develop and implement procedures for the movement of trash trucks exposing employees to the hazard of falling from the riding step. Among other methods, some feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard may include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Develop, implement and enforce procedures that ensure the trash truck comes to a complete stop before employees dismount and the truck does not proceed to move to the next stop prior to the employees being aboard the riding step. 2. Ensure that no person mounts or dismounts riding steps unless the vehicle is completely stopped as indicated in Paragraph 6.2.5.4.d of ANSI Z245.1 - 2008 (Mobile Wastes and Recyclable Materials Collection, Transportation, and Compaction Equipment -- Safety Requirements.
