29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    a. In the machine shop, employees were exposed to an amputation hazard, in that, the Orbit Machine tools and the Delta drill presses were not guarded while drilling holes in wood and aluminum angles, on or about 11/18/2015.

29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Unguarded projecting shaft end(s) did not present a smooth edge and end and projected more than one half the diameter of the shaft:     a. In the machine shop, employees were exposed to stuck by and caught in hazards, in that, the Cincinnati buffer did not have smooth edges on the spindle nut end that projected more than one half the diameter of the shaft, which was 2 inches long and the nut was 2 inches wide while buffing metal parts, on or about 11/18/2015.

29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1): Abrasive wheel(s) were used on portable grinder(s) which were not provided with safety guard(s) meeting the requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1) through (c)(4)(a)    a. In the machine shop, employees were exposed to a struck by hazards, in that, the Milwaukee straight abrasive wheel grinder SN# 00663213213 was used to de-burr metal parts. The portable grinder had no guard which covered the  abrasive wheel periphery and there was no safety guard covering the spindle end, nut, or flange projections to protect employees during use, on or about 11/18/2015
