On November 25, 2015, Bolder Contractors, Inc. employees had not been removed from the hazards associated with excavation operations such as cave-in, safe egress and proper soil classification. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): Means of egress from trench excavations. A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress shall be located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees. On November 25, 2015, Bolder Contractors, Inc. did not provide employees with safe means of egress from an excavation 6.4 feet deep. Employees were exposed to the hazards associated with the evacuation of an excavation. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
