29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: On or about 12/8/2015 at 3602 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, Suwanee, GA; Two (2) workers installing decking were observed accessing and egressing the awning where the Werner 24 foot extension ladder was not extended 3 feet above the working level. Additionally the Superintendent was standing upon the ladder that was not extended talking with the two (2) workers The workers were exposed to fall hazards above 11 feet to the concrete lower level.
