29 CFR 1926.28(a): The employer is responsible for requiring the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment in all operations where there is an exposure to hazardous conditions or where this part indicates the need for using such equipment to reduce the hazards to the employees. On or about December 9, 2015, at 10883 Yankee St. Dayton, Ohio a single story office building under construction, an employee was exposed to an eye hazard while using a staple gun without eye protection to install the wood roof sheathing to the trusses.

Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about December 9, 2015 at 10883 Yankee Street, Dayton, Ohio an single story office building under construction, a roofer was exposed to a 9ft. fall hazard while installing roof sheathing on an 8/12 pitch roof.
