OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to potential fire hazards: (a) On or about 12/09/2015 - Warehouse, portable fire extinguishers were not subjected to annual maintenance checks. Note: Maintenance is required at least once a year. Maintenance is also required whenever extinguishers undergo hydrostatic testing. Because maintenance is required to include a thorough examination of the mechanical parts, extinguishing agent and expelling means of each portable fire extinguisher, it must be performed by an approved extinguisher servicing company. (Reference: NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers, 2013 Edition, Section 7.3.2.1)
