29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge. a) Jobsite: Staircase at SW corner of building between 2nd and 3rd floors - Employees were exposed to slip and fall hazards while utilizing the staircase without a stair rail system along the unprotected side. b) Jobsite: Staircase at SW corner of building between 3rd and 4th floors - Employees were exposed to slip and fall hazards while utilizing the staircase with an inadequate stair rail system along the unprotected side. Observed on or about 12/11/15.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(12): Unprotected sides and edges of stairway landings were not provided with guardrail systems that meet the criteria contained in Subpart M of 29 CFR 1926. a) Jobsite: Staircase at SW corner of building between 2nd and 3rd floors - Employees were exposed to slip and fall hazards while utilizing the landing without a guard rail system along the unprotected side. The unprotected side of the landing had an opening of approximately 17 inches in width, 5 feet in length, and with a fall distance of approximately 20 feet. b) Jobsite: Staircase at SW corner of building between 3rd and 4th floors - Employees were exposed to slip and fall hazards while utilizing the landing with an inadequate guardrail system along the unprotected side. The inadequately protected side of the landing had an opening of approximately 17 inches in width, 5 feet in length, and with a fall distance of approximately 40 feet. Observed on or about 12/11/15.
