29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(2): Winding and spiral stairways shall be equipped with a handrail offset sufficiently to prevent walking on those portions of the stairways where the tread width is less than 6 inches (15 cm). (a) North West Stairway - On or about January 6, 2016 two employees were exposed to a fall hazard while walking or working up and down an open stairway with no handrail installed. The area where one employee was working was 48 feet above concrete.
