The employee in the lift did not have a lanyard attached to the boom or basket. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about 1/7/16 at a new housing construction project located at 3727 West Main Street, Batavia, New York; an employee installing Tyvek wrap on the building and was using a boom lift to access work areas. The employee climbed from the lift to work from the roof and did not have his lanyard attached. b) On or about 1/7/16 at a new housing construction project located at 3727 West Main Street, Batavia, New York; an employee was framing a window opening on the rear or the building. The employee was not protected from falling approximately 10 feet. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
