29 CFR 1910.67(c)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift: Note: As of January 1, 1998, body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated: On January 13, 2016, at the job site 516 North Main Street, an employee was performing tree trimming operations while in a GMC 7500 aerial lift truck, did not have on a full body safety harness and lanyard attached to the bucket or boom, exposing him to an approximately 50 foot fall hazard.
