29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets.    Employees performing residential siding operations were exposed to struck by hazards while employees worked on two different levels attaching material.  The employer failed to mandate the use of hard hats.      Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers.  Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part.    Employees performing residential siding operations were exposed to a 13.7 foot fall when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized.     Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
