On or about January 19, 2016, and times prior thereto, the Powermatic drill press was not guarded to protect operators from the rotating head of the machine or parts.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, was not guarded: a) Metaldyne Sinterforged Products, LLC, in St. Marys, PA, manual assembly area. On or about January 19, 2016, and times prior thereto, the point of operation on the Shmidt Press was not guarded in that, the two hand controls were not designed, installed, and arranged to keep employees hands out of the point of operation during the machines operating cycle.
