29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(iv): Front-end loaders and similar pieces of equipment were used to support scaffold platforms when they were not specifically designed by the manufacturer for such use. On the east side of the construction site, the employer operating the forklift was allowed to lift the employee on a wooden pallet elevated by the JLG 8042 forklift that was not approved by the forklift manufacturer. The employee was exposed to a crushed by and fall hazard of approximately 10 feet.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Employees on scaffolds more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level were not protected from falling to that lower level by fall protection established in paragraphs (g)(1)(i)-(vii) of this section. On the east side of the construction site, an employee engaged in painting activities while working from a work platform elevated by a JLG 8042 forklift was exposed to a fall hazard of more than 10 feet.
