29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE ). On or about February 3, 2016, at 777 SW 12 Avenue, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442, the employer had not completed an assessment on the use of a belt grinder to determine if hazards were present or likely to be present, and an employee sustained a severe cut to the tip of his thumb without the use of protective equipment.
