OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:    On or about February 2, 2016, in the shop area:    a) Employees performing glass work were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards while operating the Bavelloni Gemy V10 when an emergency stop button was covered with a Styrofoam cup to prevent actuation of the emergency stop button.    b) Employees performing glass work were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards while operating the Bavelloni B73 beveller that was missing an emergency stop button.     c) Employees performing glass work were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards while operating the Bevone ELB-17-45 polisher that had an emergency stop button blocked by a heavy power cord that blocked access to the button.     Among other possible methods to abate this violation, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is NFPA 79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, 2012 Edition, Section 10.7.1.1, Stop and emergency stop pushbuttons shall be continuously operable and readily accessible.
