Great Southern Peanut, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.22(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 924835, citation number 1, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on January 9, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 132 Fifth Street, Leesburg, GA 31763.

29 CFR 1910.95(g)(6): At least annually after obtaining the baseline audiogram, the employer did not obtain a new audiogram for each employee exposed at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels: a) In the Peanut Processing Plant, on or about February 10, 2016, annual audiometric testing was not provided for an employee who was exposed to noise at 180.22% of the action level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA) or an equivalent sound level of 89.2 dBA during the 329 minute sampling period, resulting in a noise hazard. b) In the Peanut Processing Plant, on or about February 10, 2016, annual audiometric testing was not provided for an employee who was exposed to noise at 308.6% of the action level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA) or an equivalent sound level of 93.1 dBA during the 467 minute sampling period, resulting in a noise hazard. c) In the Peanut Processing Plant, on or about February 10, 2016, annual audiometric testing was not provided for an employee who was exposed to noise at 248.8 % of the action level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA) or an equivalent sound level of 91.5 dBA during the 392 minute sampling period, resulting in a noise hazard. d) In the Peanut Processing Plant, on or about February 10, 2016, annual audiometric testing was not provided for an employee who was exposed to noise at 153.42% of the action level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA) or an equivalent sound level of 88.0 dBA during the 446 minute sampling period, resulting in a noise hazard.
