29 CFR 1926.403(b)(1)(i): Safety of equipment was not determined on the basis of suitability of the equipment for an identified purpose as evidenced by listing, labeling, or certification for that identified purpose. (a) Basement Boiler Room: On or about February 18, 2016 romex electrical cable was not used for its identified purpose. An electrical plug was attached to the end of the romex cable and plugged into an energized wall outlet. (b) Basement Boiler Room: On or about February 18, 2016 romex electrical cable was used as an electrical extension cord to energize an electrical junction box mounted on the ceiling. A temporary light fixture was wired into the junction box providing the electrical power for the temporary lighting in the boiler room.
