29 CFR 1910.134(i)(7): Where only high-temperature alarms were used, the air supply was not monitored at intervals sufficient to prevent carbon monoxide in the breathing air from exceeding 10 ppm: (a) The source of supplied air for respirators used by workers performing painting operations was an oil lubricated air compressor equipped with a high temperature alarm, but not equipped with a carbon monoxide alarm. The air supply was monitored for carbon monoxide at an annual frequency, which was not sufficient to assure that carbon monoxide levels would not exceed 10 ppm.
