OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to approximately 100 sections of electrical conduit protruding from a concrete floor exposing employees to tripping hazards or causing damage to mechanical equipment working in the area such as forklifts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be for the employer to make the many locations of the conduit visible by the use of flagging, covering, barricading, or marking with orange or other hues of high visibility paint.    a) First floor of the Aircraft Maintenance Hangar: Approximately 100 sections of electrical conduit protruded from the concrete floor at varying heights of 4 to 16 inches. None of the conduit was protected by covers, or marked by flagging, paint or other means to make the conduit readily visible to employees working in the area.
