OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: On or about March 4, 2016, employees operating the overhead crane utilizing a remote control were exposed to crushing hazard. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement is to develop and implement safe procedure to ensure operators are positioned at a safe distance from the die, at a minimum distance of one die set from the ide being handled, when there is a potential for the crane to lift the die.
