29 CFR 1910.1030(c)(1)(i): The employer having employee(s) with occupational exposure did not establish a written Exposure Control Plan designed to eliminate or minimize employee exposure:    a) The employer lacked a written Bloodborne Pathogens exposure control plan for employee(s) with occupational exposure, such as the staff in the nursing area, which administers insulin injections to client(s).  The employer's infection control training material did not contain any determination of occupational exposure for job classification(s), nor did it specify a schedule and method(s) of compliance implementation, such as but not limited to;     1) engineering & work practice controls, regulated waste containment & disposal,   2) Hepatitis B vaccination and post-exposure evaluation & medical follow-up,   3) provisions for employee training and other means of communicating hazard(s), such as signs / labels.     Condition(s) were noted on or about 3/09/2016.

29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employees exposure:    a) The employer purchased and provided disposable pre-filled insulin syringes and pen needles for staff use in nursing area for administration of insulin to clients, which were not sharps with engineered sharps injury protection (SESIP).  Failure to select & use commercially-available SESIPs for insulin injection exposes nursing staff to hazard of bloodborne pathogen infection due to accidental needlestick injury.    Condition(s) were noted on or about 4/07/2016.
