OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:      a) Shop Area - On or about March 17, 2016, the automotive lift, such as the Blue in-ground one in the Service Area, did not have a functioning safety latch to catch the lift if it were to fall.  The employer failed to conduct daily inspections of the automotive lifts in the service areas to ensure the latch was functional.      Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard includes, but is not limited to the following:    Conform to the ALI sponsored the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to make a standard which addresses the issue requiring that a qualified person inspect automotive lifts in: ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008 Standard for Automotive Lifts-Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance, Section 5.
