29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Spooler/Coiler Machine: On or about March 16, 2016 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure the ingoing nip created by the wire rope being coiled was guarded which exposed employees to injuries associated with having clothing and body parts being pulled into the nip point. b) Spooler/Coiler Machine: On or about March 16, 2016 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure moving parts of the machine were guarded which exposed employees to injuries associated with having clothing and body parts being struck-by or caught-in moving machinery.
