29 CFR 1926.651(k)(2): Where the competent person found evidence of a situation that could result in a possible cave-in, exposed employees were not removed from the hazardous area until the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure their safety: a) 4328 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA - The employees were working in an excavation approximately 60 feet long by 25 feet wide and 8 feet deep in which the competent person did not make a determination of a possible cave-in. The employer let the employees work in the excavation without having some type of protective shielding in place. This violation exposed the employees to cave-in hazards. This violation was observed on or about March 16, 2016.
