On or about March 15, 2016, in the PACCAR Area, employees were not trained to assist in a safe and orderly evacuation of other employees when a fire occurred in the oven. Employees were instructed by a supervisor to stay in the building and sweep when a fire occurred in the PACCAR area.

29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting. a. On or about March 15, 2016, in the PACCAR Area, the employer did not have an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting. Employees were not trained in the use of portable fire extinguishers when their use was required to put out the fire in the PACCAR Area.
