29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazards created by rotating parts; a) At the time of the inspection the Edger saw blades were not guarded exposing employees to an amputation hazard. b) At the time of the inspection, the Baker cut off saw was not adequately guarded exposing employees to an amputation hazard. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.

29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): 29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): A continuing, effective Hearing Conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (n) was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour Time-Weighted Average sound level (TWA) of 85 decibels (dBA). At the time of the inspection, employees were supplied hearting protection to wear during operation of sawmill equipment that exposed them to noise above 85 decibels. No hearing conservation program including but not limited to annual audiograms was in effect.
