29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure: a. On or about March 28, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing roofing operations on a roof with a 3:12 and 10:12 roof pitch were exposed to fall hazards due to the lack of the use of personal fall protection equipment, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately fourteen (14) two (2) feet to twenty one (21) feet. The Chuck's Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 882563, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 16, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 16836 South Park Avenue, South Holland, IL.
