29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: On or about April 5th, 2016, and times prior thereto, at this facility, the employer had not established or implemented a respiratory protection program when employees were required to wear tight-fitting respirators when painting and putting the protective chemicals on banners and signs. An effective respiratory protection program would include, but not limited to: a. Procedures for selecting respirators for use in the work place; b. medical evaluation of employees required to wear respirators; c. a valid fit testing procedures for each type of tight-fitting respirators; d. procedures and schedules for cleaning, disinfecting, storing, inspecting, repairing, discarding and maintaining respirators; and, e. training of employees in the proper use of respirators.
